Steve moved to Haig Avenue at the start of the 1999/2000 season and immediately began a run which saw him break the club record for consecutive appearances. In all he was ever-present for three seasons, accumulating 126 Conference appearances, a run which ended at the start of this season as he missed the opening game through a one game suspension. Steve moved to Southport from Unibond Premier League side Guiseley and has shown excellent form throughout his Haig Avenue career, winning the players’ and supporters’ Player of the Year. The 2003-04 Southport Visiter/Rewardaward player of the season. A regular tourist with the Middlesex Wanderers that has taken Steve on several tours including Japan and France. Showed great loyalty renewing his contract immediately the Sandgrounders were relegated from the Nationwide Conference in 2003 and was an ever present in last seasons Nationwide North championship triumph.
